What estori is

estori lets you create personalized, illustrated bedtime storybooks starring your child, read them in the app, and order printed hardcover copies. Illustrations and story text are generated by AI.

Your account

You need an account to use estori. If you order a book as a gift, we create one for your email when you pay, or use the one you already have. You must be an adult (the age of majority where you live) and you're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in email secure.

When you enter a child's details or upload their photo, you confirm you have the right to, because you're the child's parent or legal guardian or you have their permission.

Acceptable use

Please don't use estori to:

• Upload photos of anyone without the right to do so, or photos of someone who isn't the child the story is about.
• Create content that is illegal, hateful, sexual, or that exploits or endangers a minor.
• Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service.
• Resell or commercially redistribute generated books without our permission.

AI-generated content

Stories and illustrations are produced by AI. That means they can be imperfect, surprising, or occasionally inaccurate, and similar prompts may produce different results. We add safeguards to keep content child-appropriate, but we can't guarantee perfection. Please review each story before sharing or printing it.

Credits

Story creation runs on credits. One credit makes one story. The free tier includes one credit, which refreshes each month and does not stack up.

Credits you buy are a one-time purchase, in bundles of 1, 5, or 15. They do not expire, they are not refundable once bought, and they cannot be exchanged for money or used to pay for a printed book. We no longer sell subscriptions.

Printed books are a separate one-off purchase covered by our Print Refund Policy.

Books ordered as a gift

When you order a printed book from our gift checkout, you pay first and we write and illustrate the book afterwards. We email you when it's ready.

From then you have 24 hours to read it, edit it, and approve or cancel it. If you do nothing, the book goes to print automatically when the 24 hours are up.

If you cancel because you changed your mind, we refund what you paid minus a cancellation fee of US$2.99, £2.49, €2.99, CA$3.99 or A$4.49, depending on the currency you paid in. You keep the digital book.

If you cancel because of a problem on our side, tell us what it is. We'll look at it and either refund you in full or make the book again.

Our quality checks sometimes hold a book for our team to look at before it prints. That can delay printing.

Once the book has gone to print, our Print Refund Policy applies.

Who owns what

You own the personal content you put into your stories: your child's name, the photo you upload (which we delete once the drawing is made), and the descriptions you write. The stories and illustrations you generate are yours to read, share, and print for personal, non-commercial use.

We own estori itself — the app, our software, prompts, templates, and brand. To run the service for you, you grant us a license to process your inputs and store and display your generated content back to you. We don't claim ownership of your family's stories.

Service availability

We're a small team and we're improving estori constantly. We may change, pause, or discontinue features. We aim for reliability but can't promise the service is always available or error-free.

Liability

estori is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or incidental damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the issue. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Ending your account

You can stop using estori and ask us to delete your account at any time (support@estori.ai). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
